Questions & Answers
Is there a difference between the Holy Ghost and the Holy Spirit?
The word Ghost as used in the Bible is a poor translation and gives the reader a
wrong impression many times. Spirit is a much better translation. God is
not a ghost or spook. The Greek word “pneuma” (which is where we get the
word pneumatic tires) is a current of air, superhuman, Christ’s Spirit.
Also, many times, by paying attention, we can even be aware of other words that
refer to the three-dimensional Godhead. Bullinger points out that when the
word “behold” is used, this is referring to the Holy Spirit. When the word
“yea” is used, it is of the Father, and when “verily” is used, it is of the Son.
These of course must be used in context.
