I have noticed in the back of some Bibles a Table of Dispensations. Some refer to six and some to seven dispensations. How many are there and what is meant by a dispensation?

The reason so many people get confused when reading the Bible is they read into one dispensation that which relates to another. Each has its own beginning and end and is characterized by certain distinctive principles of God’s dealing with us. Realizing this enables certain scriptures to be understood that normally would be impossible to grasp.
